Everyone that tries bowls , Says "Its addictive and why did i not start earlier"

Collingwood Bowling Club - Bowling Since 1902

One thing is certain, when taking up the game of bowls it can be a totally absorbing sport as many of our new members will testify to. The club has attracted many new members since taking over the redundant Heaton Terrace bowling park in 2014/15, consisting of many people who are bowling for the very first time.

Collingwood Bowling Club’s mission, and indeed its ethos, is to bring the community into bowling whilst providing a social, supportive, and friendly environment for all.

As a registered charity we could not exist without the generous financial support given by our many sponsors and the many local and national charities whose support has enabled our club to ‘bring Heaton Terrace bowling park back to life.’

Collingwood is also a club filled with many top class seasoned bowlers (many at County level), and the club is always keen to take on other bowling clubs within the various leagues we compete in throughout the season. Our internal club competitions are also well contested by our members at all levels and the seasoned players have to keep looking over their shoulders for the up-and-coming novices and new members looking to improve their game.

So, if you wish to get involved in a skilful, exciting sport – yes bowls is that – come along to one of our coaching sessions on a Saturday morning from 10.00am – 12.00pm and give it a go - we can supply the equipment and coaching. All you need is to bring along some flat soled shoes (or trainers) to wear whilst playing. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are available at a half time break where you can also have a very social chat with all members present.
