Bowling since 1902

Collingwood Bowling Club

One thing is certain: taking up bowls can be a truly absorbing sport, as many of our new members will testify. The club has welcomed many new players since taking over the former Heaton Terrace bowling park in 2014/15, including plenty who were bowling for the very first time.

Collingwood Bowling Club’s mission, and indeed its ethos, is to bring the community into bowling while providing a social, supportive, and friendly environment for all.

As a registered charity, we could not exist without the generous financial support of our many sponsors and the local and national charities whose backing has helped us bring Heaton Terrace bowling park back to life.

Collingwood is also a club full of seasoned bowlers, many at county level, and we are always keen to take on other clubs in the various leagues we compete in throughout the season. Our internal club competitions are also well contested, with members at all levels, and the experienced players must always keep an eye on the up-and-coming novices and newer members looking to improve their game.

So, if you would like to get involved in a skilful and exciting sport, come along to one of our coaching sessions on Saturday mornings from 10:00am to 12:00pm and give it a go. We can supply the equipment and coaching. All you need to bring is a pair of flat-soled shoes or trainers. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are available at half-time, along with a friendly chat with fellow members.
